2024 Philippine Land and Resource Conflict Monitoring Report

May 14, 2025

Land and resource conflicts remain a persistent challenge in the Philippines. The 2024 Philippine Land and Resource Conflict Monitoring Report highlights 262 ongoing land and resource conflicts, affecting 104,095 households and over 775,000 areas of contested land. The Report further examines their underlying drivers, as well as the human rights violations related to these conflicts.

Communities at the forefront of these conflicts continue to seek resolution through legal channels, advocacy, and collective action, but structural gaps in land governance demand urgent actions from the Government, businesses, and civil society. This report underscores the need for inclusive land governance, stronger enforcement of rights protections, and meaningful conflict resolution mechanisms.
