Nepal’s chure – an area of short hills extending from the east to the west – is plagued with issues such as rapid deforestation, land degradation, encroachment, and land rights violations. Chure people took part in a 7-day foot march on 19 – 25 April 2014 organized by CSRC and NLRF to demand from their land rights as well as natural resources conservation from the government.

Founded in 1979, ANGOC is a regional association of national and regional networks of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Asia, actively engaged in food security, agrarian reform, sustainable agriculture, participatory governance, and rural development.
