Mar 7, 2019

The Bangkok Declaration on “WCARRD 40: Recognize, Defend, and Protect Access to Land, Resources and Tenure Security of the Rural Poor,” captures the spirit of the exchanges during the “Regional workshop on the State of Land Rights and Land Governance in Selected Asian Countries” last 14-15 February 2019. It was drafted by a committee co-chaired by Fr. Francis Lucas of the Asian NGO Coalition for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ANGOC) and Director General Tevita G. Boseiwaqa Taginavulau of the Centre for Integrated and Rural Development (CIRDAP).

The Declaration highlights contemporary land rights and land governance issues and provides recommendations to national governments, multilateral organizations, and international institutions to address such challenges.
