Finding our way to an ecological civilization: Grounded in the Earth Charter Principles

In the run-up to the Earth Day this 22nd April 2025, ANGOC is featuring a speech delivered by Dr David Korten during a webinar organized by the Ateneo School of Government (ASOG) last 29 March 2025 to a group of students and faculty on “Finding Our Way to an Ecological Civilization: Grounded in the Earth Charter Principles.” This event explores the visionary work of David Korten, as he challenges prevailing economic and cultural paradigms, offering a compelling call to action for a just, sustainable, and life-affirming future. His insights invite us to reimagine our relationship with the Earth and one another, shifting from extractive systems to ones rooted in community, cooperation, and ecological balance which are so badly needed if we and our planet are to survive in the coming years.

Founded in 1979, ANGOC is a regional association of national and regional networks of civil society organizations (CSOs) in Asia, actively engaged in food security, agrarian reform, sustainable agriculture, participatory governance, and rural development.
